AI Disclosure and Call Consent

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Junes uses artificial intelligence to answer calls and messages on behalf of businesses. This notice explains how the AI works and what businesses are responsible for when it comes to disclosure, recording, and consent.

How Junes uses AI

When a call or message comes in, Junes uses an AI voice and language model to understand the caller, respond in natural language, answer questions from your business information, book appointments, and create a transcript, summary, and lead record. For voice calls this is a real-time, speech-to-speech AI, not a human agent.

The AI can escalate urgent situations by warm-transferring the caller to a real person on your team.

Disclosure to callers

Some jurisdictions require that people be told when they are interacting with an automated or AI system rather than a human. Businesses using Junes are responsible for making any legally required disclosure, and can configure the greeting to identify the assistant as an automated agent.

Recording and consent

Junes creates transcripts of conversations and, where enabled, may store audio. Recording or monitoring communications is regulated by federal and state law. Some states require the consent of all parties before a call is recorded; others require only one party.

As the business using Junes, you are solely responsible for determining what notice or consent is required for your callers and for providing it, for example through a spoken notice at the start of the call. Junes provides configuration options to help, but does not provide legal advice.

Automated messaging

If you use Junes to send text messages, you are responsible for complying with applicable laws governing automated and marketing communications, including obtaining any required consent and honoring opt-out requests. Junes answers inbound messages by default and does not send unsolicited outbound campaigns.

Accuracy

AI responses can be inaccurate or incomplete. Transcripts and summaries are generated automatically and should be reviewed for anything important. Junes assists your team; it does not replace professional judgment.
